Inspiration can strike at any time, but I’m always ready to catch it. Colour isn’t just something I use; it’s my way of celebrating life, of making things that genuinely make me smile.

I’ve always been a sketcher, a doodler, maker and decorator. With my painting and pattern designing I’ve found the perfect outlet for my creativity. I have an eclectic taste in almost everything - fashion, food, decor, music etc but the one theme that is always in my mind is botanical and shapes in nature.

I like to think my art as a joyful explosion of colours accompanying a little burst of happiness, peace, calm and/or contentment - forever captured in time.

Design

Over the last 3 years I have added a few new strings to my bow - Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop - which have become a much loved addition to my artists tool box. The beauty about art and design is that there are no limits other than ourselves. Happy accidents when playing with art materials or on the computer are the best accidents and sometimes the most magical. Through courses I have can now combine my artistic creativity with my technical know how to turn artwork and ideas in to repeating patterns. I have also designed promotional and business leaflets, cards and posters and am currently venturing in to the world of wedding stationery design.

Painting

What kicked my creative journey off was actually one of the worst times for most people - when the covid outbreak hit the world in 2020. I was furloughed from work and to pass the time and try and remain positive I started painting. At first I copied some artists work I found on the internet and then, when I got a little bit of confidence, started creating my own compositions.

Florals immediately grabbed my attention and they feature in most of my work, mainly because they make me feel happy.

I also really love painting landscapes with big open skies that you can escape in to whenever you need a little bit of calm. I plan to do more of this in the near future.

If I could sum up the art I feel like creating in three words, it would have to be nostalgic, romantic and beauty.
